Scott W. Monroe
ASSOCIATE
Scott Monroe is an aggressive and staunch advocate for his clients. In just a short period
of time, Scott has proven his ability to meet any challenge set before him in order to make
sure his clients receive the very best representation possible. Scott knew early on that he wanted to be a trial attorney. While still in high school, Scott
worked as an Intern in the Public Defender's Office. After graduating and moving to
California, Scott worked in the District Attorney's Office for the County of Los Angeles.
While there he conducted dozens of preliminary hearings including many within the gang
unit. It was through this intense period that Scott learned a valuable lesson - be a zealous
advocate for your client, but never be afraid to be completely honest with them. In preparing
for any case, Scott makes sure that every possible angle of the problem is examined. Every
piece of evidence is gathered, every possible contingency is explored, and every possible
attack has been considered and a proper response readied. It is through this process that
Scott makes sure his clients know exactly where they stand before ever entering a courtroom.
In this manner, Scott ensures his clients the most favorable outcome. When achieving that
outcome requires going to trial, Scott knows he stands ready to give his full measure to
achieve the verdict he wants. In addition to his criminal law work, Scott has a thorough background in entertainment
law, insurance fraud and bad faith matters, contract construction and negotiation, as well as
intellectual property. He knows how to properly manage all aspects of a case from initial inquiry
to judgment enforcement. When taking on a case, he dispassionately examines all components
of the matter and works diligently with the client to make sure they understand their rights and
choices. Once a course of action has been decided upon, Scott becomes a zealous advocate who
will go the extra mile to deliver the desired outcome. Scott received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Gettysburg College in Gettysburg,
Pennsylvania. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with an impressive list of
accomplishments. This included not only being on the Dean's list but the Dean's
Commendation list every single year. Scott was also the vice-president of his honors
fraternity and a member of the Classics Honors Fraternity. After graduating, Scott moved to California and attended Pepperdine University School
of Law in Malibu, California where he earned his Juris Doctor degree. During his time
at Pepperdine, Scott distinguished himself as part of the school's Trial Team succeeding in
several competitions including the A.A.J. Trial Competition and the San Diego Defense
Lawyers Trial Competition. Scott also participated in Moot Court and became a certified
law clerk. In recognition of his achievements, Scott was given the Honors Trial Advocate
with Highest Distinction award.
