Robert A. Hartley
ASSOCIATE
Robert A. Hartley believes that to be an effective attorney working in the complexities
of today’s legal system, simply showing up and getting the job done is not enough. In
every situation, Mr. Hartley goes beyond what is expected by his clients to ensure that the
client’s voice is heard and their goals are met. He backs his dedication and excellence with
a very simple moral ethic, “Do the right thing for the right reason.” It is this willingness to
exceed the client’s expectations that sets him apart from many of his contemporaries.
Mr. Hartley’s experience allows him a unique perspective, not only in the courtroom, but
also during the interview, discovery, research, case management, mediation, litigation,
negotiation and summation phases. Each period of a case is an opportunity for success
and Mr. Hartley maintains a constant focus on pursuing his client’s matters to their best
resolution every step of the way.
While holding an externship position with U.S. Senator Blanch Lincoln, Mr. Hartley
diligently pursued casework for veterans of the armed services within her constituency.
Concern, compassion and the commitment to going the distance makes Mr. Hartley the
litigator of choice for clients seeking aggressive, ethical representation.
Mr. Hartley received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Management from
the University of Redlands in Redlands, California. He continued on to earn his Juris
Doctor from the University of Arkansas, William H. Bowen School of Law in Little
Rock, Arkansas. In addition to his law studies, Mr. Hartley was a valued member of the
University’s Litigation Clinic where he assisted in a variety of case support work including
court document filings, subpoena issuance, discovery, deposition and divorce counseling.
Mr. Hartley’s commitment to justice and service does not end at his client’s door. For over
30 years, he has dedicated himself to fighting to protect the rights and lives of individuals,
as well as the defense of our nation. He served as a U.S. Navy Corpsman for four years,
and as a committee member for the San Diego Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation’s
summer camp, Camp Stepping Stone. He has also done similar selfless volunteer work
for the San Diego YMCA, the Orange County Chapter of the Muscular Dystrophy
Association and a private Orange County-based consortium dedicated to assisting
developmentally disabled children.
